I.           Introductory  Concept

.        Nails are an important part of our personality and the Chinese knew it from the very beginning. In ancient China, people with 2 inch talons were considered to belong to wealthy families as they could maintain that long a nail! In the modern world this has transformed into nail art designs. Most of our Nail Salon clients request for trendy fancy nail designs while some request for basic nail designs. Whatever their requested nail design  is, nail technicians like you must be ready to satisfy their needs with excellent customer service.

          In this lesson, you are going to learn some of the most common basic nail design that you can improve and modify to make fancy nail designs.

 

II.          Learning Competency

Note: We will only have basic nail design instead of fancy since there is no face to face classes.

III. Activities

 

General Directions: Read and understand the directions for each activity. Answer by writing DIRECTLY on the activity sheet.

A.     Read and study the different basic nail designs

 

                     B.  Identification

                   Directions: 

                    Identify the following nail designs: Write your answer on the blank before each number.

                      1. It is the traditional application of nail polish to the entire nail plate.

                      2. It is a style that involves applying of nail polish over the whole nail plate except the 

                          area of lunula.

                      3. It involves the application of colored polish over the whole nail plate except the area of 

                          lunula and tip of the toe nail.  

                      4. It is a style that involves the application of nail polish to create S curve, leaving a 

                          slightly lager gap along the nail walls.

                       5. It is a design which involves the application of colored polish over the whole part of 

                            the nail except the area of the free-edge

                      6-10. List the materials needed for applying basic nail design.

      C. Practicum

           Choose one basic nail design and apply it on your model’s fingernails and toenails.  

           Record your performance and   submit your video as private message to my FB page: 

            Teacher Rica.
